From the basics of sound recognition to advanced reading, each phase is thoughtfully designed to build confidence and nurture a lifelong love of reading.
Phase 2:
In this phase, children are introduced to the first set of sounds, which they will begin to blend to form simple words. As their confidence grows, they will move from reading individual words to reading short captions and sentences, developing fluency along the way.
Throughout this phase, children also engage in activities that reinforce their understanding of how words are structured. By the end of Phase 2, students will have established a strong phonics foundation, preparing them to tackle more complex words and longer texts.
Phase 3:
In this phase, children will build on the phonics skills they've already mastered and learn the next set of sounds, including digraphs (two letters that make one sound). They will begin reading longer words and constructing more complex sentences, expanding their vocabulary and fluency.
As their skills advance, children will progress to more challenging reading books, designed to boost their comprehension. Each lesson is packed with interactive games and activities that complement the reading material, ensuring that children don’t just practise their reading and writing but also fully grasp and engage with the class content.
Phase 4:
In this phase, students deepen their phonics knowledge by learning alternative spellings for familiar sounds, such as "ee" and "ea," and applying them across various forms of writing.
Students immerse themselves in both fiction and non-fiction texts, expanding their understanding of punctuation, sentence structure and grammar along the way.

Our group sessions provide an engaging learning environment where children can thrive alongside peers.
Perfect for children who thrive on social interaction and teamwork, these small group classes are limited to a maximum of three students, ensuring personalised attention for each child.
Through interactive activities and shared experiences, children can reinforce their phonics skills, build confidence and enjoy the journey of learning together.
Phase 5 & beyond:
This phase is designed for children who are already proficient readers. It focuses on enhancing reading fluency and encourages expressive reading of more complex texts.
Students will expand their vocabulary and deepen their comprehension while reading higher level reading books.
They will practise responding to questions that reinforce critical thinking. We also review previously taught sounds and words to ensure retention, while focusing on spelling, reading, writing and pronouncing new vocabulary.
